🌿 Our Process
I’ve been creating tinctures for the better part of my 60 years. It’s one of the things I love most about being an herbalist — a way to express my love for nature and its ability to support our well-being. My process is simple, carbon-neutral, and waste-free.
🧪 The Traditional Way
There are several ways to make tinctures. The most common method involves soaking plant material in a mixture of alcohol and water for about four weeks, keeping it in a cool, dark place and shaking it daily. This creates a perfectly good handmade tincture — and I used this method for years.
📏 Precision through Percolation
But eventually, I wanted more precision. I wanted to know exactly how much herb was in each batch, and I needed a faster process than the traditional month-long wait. After some deep research (and dusting off my old math skills), I found the perfect fit: the cold percolation method.
🌬️ Cold. Clean. Consistent.

In this method, I begin by soaking cut and sifted plant material. Then I transfer it to a draining vessel and add the extracting liquid in carefully measured amounts. Gravity does the rest — no heat, no electricity, no machinery. Just time, calculation, and nature’s quiet efficiency. The result is a potent tincture with a consistent amount of herb per milliliter.
đź«™ Small Batches, Fresh Results
This method also lets me make only what’s needed to fill orders, so nothing sits on a shelf losing strength over time. Every bottle is fresh, intentional, and made with care.
